Joining our community is completely free. We only require a one-time fee to cover the cost of your mandatory background check. Once verified, you gain exclusive access to private honey-holes, pristine streams, and secluded campsites that the public never sees.

Safety and Security: The Background Check
To maintain the trust of our private landowners and the safety of our community, every member must pass a comprehensive background check. This is a non-negotiable step to ensure that our network remains a community of responsible, law-abiding sportsmen and women.
Eligibility Requirements: To be approved for a Rustic Access membership, you must not have any legal disqualifications that would prohibit you from owning or possessing a firearm under federal law.
Automatic Disqualifications Include:
Any Felony Conviction: Regardless of the nature of the crime.
Convictions of Violence: This includes both felony and misdemeanor convictions involving domestic violence, assault, or other violent acts.
Federal Prohibitions: Any other condition that makes it illegal for you to possess a firearm under 18 U.S.C. § 922 (g) (such as active restraining orders or specific drug-related offenses).
Important Note: These standards apply to all members, regardless of whether you intend to hunt, fish, or camp, and regardless of whether you plan to bring a firearm onto the property.

Industry-Leading Protections for Landowners
We know that letting someone onto your property requires trust. That’s why we’ve built a multi-layered security system to protect your land, your privacy, and your peace of mind.
1. Mandatory Background Checks
Every single member—regardless of their intent to hunt or camp—must pass a rigorous criminal background check. We automatically disqualify anyone with:
Any felony conviction.
Misdemeanor or felony convictions of violence.
Any legal status that prohibits the possession of a firearm under federal law.
2. Comprehensive Liability Coverage
Rustic Access provides a Host Protection Insurance policy designed specifically for rural and recreational land use. This covers you against third-party claims for bodily injury or property damage occurring during a booking.
3. The "Leave No Trace" Guarantee
Our community is built on the foundation of stewardship. Guests are contractually obligated to follow your specific land rules. If a guest violates these terms—such as littering, damaging fences, or trespassing outside of boundaries—they are permanently removed from the platform and held financially liable.
4. Secure Payment Processing
No more chasing checks or handling cash at the gate. All payments are processed securely through the platform, with funds deposited directly into your account after the guest arrives.

Non-Discrimination Policy
At Rustic Access, our mission is to make the great outdoors accessible to everyone. We believe that the bond between people and the land transcends backgrounds, and we are committed to fostering a community built on respect, safety, and belonging. Rustic Access and its Hosts provide access to properties for all individuals regardless of their protected class or demographic.
We strictly prohibit discrimination in any form—whether in listing descriptions, booking communications, or physical access to the land.
All members of the Rustic Access community (Hosts and Guests) must adhere to our non-discrimination standards. We do not tolerate the denial of service or the application of different terms or conditions based on an individual’s identity.
Below is a list of protected classes under Federal and State laws that Rustic Access recognizes and protects:
Protected Category & Legal Context
Race & Color: Protection against discrimination based on perceived or actual racial identity and skin tone.
National Origin: Protection based on an individual’s birthplace, ancestry, culture, or primary language.
Religion: Protection for all religious, ethical, or moral beliefs, as well as those who identify as non-religious.
Sex: Including gender, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
Disability: Protection for individuals with physical or mental impairments, including the right to reasonable accommodations.
Familial Status: Protection for families with children under 18 (if activity is allowed by minors in the specific jurisdiction), pregnant women, and people securing custody of children.
Age: Protection against discrimination based on age (although you must be 21 or older to rent)
Military & Veteran Status: Protection for past or present members of the armed forces, reserves, or National Guard.
Marital Status: Protection based on whether an individual is single, married, divorced, or widowed.
Note: Depending on your location, state and local laws may provide additional protections—such as source of income, creed, or genetic information—all of which are honored by Rustic Access.
Zero-Tolerance for Hate Speech
Respect is the baseline for every interaction. We do not allow content or behavior that promotes violence, incites hatred, or uses slurs against any of the protected groups listed above.
If you encounter any behavior or listing that violates this policy, please report it to our Trust & Safety Team immediately. Members found in violation of these standards will be permanently removed from the platform.
